The Associate Claims Representative training program will begin June 2018.


  • Successfully complete SECURA’s Claims Associate Training Program.
  • Analyze, review, negotiate, and settle claims in a thorough manner with minimal supervision.
  • Establish and monitor reserves to adequately reflect the exposure, and make appropriate changes as each file develops.
  • Uphold the highest level of service orientation toward all customers, including internal customers, insureds, agents, and claimants.
  • Examine policy coverage forms and other records to determine insurance coverage.
  • Interview, telephone, or correspond with claimants, witnesses, and insureds.
  • Take recorded statements and obtain records/documents to determine extent of SECURA’s liability.
  • Prepare reports of findings and negotiate settlements.
  • Set up first notices of loss and initiate claims investigations.
  • Document all actions taken on the file.



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Great problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage relationships in a fast-paced environment
  • Great keyboard/PC skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize effectively


  • Bachelor’s degree (strongly preferred)
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Completion of basic/fundamental insurance courses
  • Knowledge of policy language
