Overview

This position will work out of his/her home. There will be no field work associated with the position.

Responsibilities

  • Examine policy coverage forms and other records to determine insurance coverage.
  • Conduct telephone interviews and written correspondence with claimants and insureds.
  • Analyze, review, negotiate, and settle property/GL claims of varying complexity in a thorough manner with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in agency management by providing feedback to Underwriting.
  • Establish and monitor reserves to adequately reflect exposures, making appropriate changes as files develop.
  • Handle complicated losses in area(s) of expertise.
  • Participate on catastrophe claims as needed.
  • Provide superior customer service for all internal and external customers.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Good keyboard/PC skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • 2+ years Commercial lines experience.

 

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years previous property claims experience.
  • Commercial and general liability experience.
  • Knowledge of claims laws and coverages.
  • Experience in evaluating contractor estimates and Xactimate estimates.
  • Certificate in General Insurance.
  • AIC, CPCU, or ARM
  • Fluency in Spanish.
