Overview

The position is responsible for delivering excellence in the operation of all computing and communications technology associated with Information Technology applications, communications (voice and data), and computing services within the enterprise. As the Manager of IT Operations he or she executes upon our vision and strategy for how technology infrastructure is applied within the enterprise. The Manager of IT Operation’s role is to plan, organize, and manage staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, mainframe infrastructure, hypervisor infrastructure, transaction processing and database administration, data communications, telecommunications systems and data center management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction, coaching, and development for members of the IT Operations team.
  • Provide leadership and drive continual improvement in the execution of strategic roadmaps focused on the assessment, design, implementation, and support of enterprise infrastructure capabilities and standards related to the following:
    • Networking (LAN, WAN, Wireless, SDN)
    • VoIP, Phones, UC
    • Enterprise Storage
    • Servers and Operating Systems
    • Mainframe Operations
    • Printers and Operational Processing
    • Data Center Management
    • Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity
    • Messaging/O365
    • Database Administration
    • Performance, Availability, Configuration and Capacity Management
  • Ensure that all IT Operations needs and capabilities related to Corporate and Department level initiatives are met.
  • Partner with the leaders of IT Enterprise Architecture, Application Development, Business Intelligence, Vendor Management, Business Analysis & Quality Assurance and their respective teams in order to ensure a robust infrastructure and service capability that supports their needs.
  • Partner with multiple business leaders to understand and deliver on their needs as it relates to the aforementioned technologies.
  • Ensure that IT Operations complies with all security and compliance requirements as determined by IT Security and IT Governance.
  • Responsible for the planning and execution of a DR plan capable of restoring all critical applications in a timely manner and tested annually.
  • Develop partnerships with infrastructure vendors that meet long term strategic needs.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL:

  • 7+ years’ leadership experience demonstrating a proven track record of delivering results while leading infrastructure or equivalent teams in a complex, fast paced environment.
  • 7+ years’ in-depth technical experience in several of the following areas:
    • Virtual Servers
    • Storage Area Networks
    • Networking
    • Security Infrastructure (e.g. firewalls, threat detection, DLP)
    • Corporate Email Environments
    • Mainframe Operations
    • Distributed Server and Operating Systems
    • Data Center Management
    • Disaster Recovery Planning and Execution
    • IT Service Desk Solutions
    • Performance Monitoring
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business with an emphasis in information technology (or related field).
  • Strong problem analysis/resolution, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, customer service skills and attitude
  • Approachability, willingness to share knowledge, and ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated leadership and personnel/project management skills.

PREFERRED:

  • Advanced degrees (Masters in CS or Mathematics, MBA etc…).
  • Certification in MSCE, CCNA, ITIL, PMP, or related disciplines
