Overview

The SharePoint Application Administrator is responsible for configuring and supporting the SharePoint application and partnering with business application users. The Application Administrator is a point of contact and subject matter expert in all functional and operational aspects of the SharePoint application including promoting user adoption, needs analysis, design, and build activities.  In addition, the Application Administrator will partner with the business to provide IT support for initiatives, and participates in projects.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary support and central point of contact between IT and business areas for routine application configuration support and enhancement projects
  • Develops system administration best practices and trains staff in their implementation
  • Daily support of installed applications including vendor upgrades
  • Configures SharePoint services and settings
  • Administers and maintains sites and sub-sites
  • Training and support of the business users in their day to day involvement with SharePoint. 
  • Monitors application, including setting alerts to maintain the stability of the environment and application, monitoring error logs, and automating administration tasks wherever possible
  • Incident troubleshooting and management
  • Utilize change management process
  • Understanding/working knowledge of SDLC and source control
  • 24x7 rotational on call support

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • 2-3 year experience with administering and supporting SharePoint in an enterprise setting
  • Strong understanding of what can be done using out of the box features of SharePoint
  • Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Enterprise level software testing, debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in specific technologies
  • Strong analytical and critical thinker
  • Demonstrated passion and communication skills for thriving in a team environment

PREFERRED:

  • Experience administering third party applications in the insurance industry
