  • Overview

    Serve as Project Manager for medium-to-large IT and business software development projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Create project plans with tasks, considering resource availability
    • Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders
    • Have the ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources
    • Track project tasks and deliverables
    • Manage issues and risks
    • Escalate and resolve incidents reported, as appropriate
    • Manage changes in project scope
    • Suggest alternatives to business issues
    • Manage project financial responsibilities (budget and forecasting)
    • Provide updates to senior leadership
    • Develop process and procedures
    • Provide status updates
    • Conduct lessons learned sessions
    • Attend professional organization events

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL:

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT related field
    • 2+ years project management or equivalent experience
    • Highly motivated, organized, and a self-starter
    • Superior oral and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated passion for thriving in a team environment

    PREFERRED:

    • Experience working in Agile development environments
    • Microsoft Project or other PPM tool experience
    • Insurance industry experience

    IDEAL:

    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
    • CPCU or other professional insurance designations
